Effect of Global Warming on Animal Life

What can you do to prevent global warming? Watch this video to understand how global warming is impacting not only us but animals.

3. ..........

Complete this list by listing in the comment box below.

Global Warming

What will happen because of global warming?? Watch this video to understand how rising temperatures are changing our world

Global Warming

The temperature of the earth is gradually rising. This means that the summers are hotter and the winters will be shorter. A rising temperature would also melt the glaciers in the Mountains and Alaska could become like Australia in a few years!

Why is the temperature rising?? How does the temperature of earth increase?

Fun Task: List down a set of things you do which increases the temperature around you - here is 2.
1. When I make tea, a lot of heat is generated. This increases the temperature
2. When Daddy drives his car, very hot air comes off the car's exhaust. This increases the temperature
3 .........

What to wear??

Different climates require different kinds of clothing. For example, in very cold climates, fur clothing is used as it keeps the body warm. I hot desert like climate light fabric (made of cotton) is used. Can you see how the desert dress covers the entire body? Why do they require to cover the complete body? - To save them from the direct sun rays and also save them during dust storms.
What kind of summer and winter clothes do you use?

What do you wear during summers? during winters?
Discuss in the comment box below. Take pictures and bring to the classroom of your favorite summer and winter clothes.

Fun Task: Create a good winter cloth and summer cloth using the following: Paper, hay, cotton cloth, thread and needle.

Coldest Place on Earth

One of the coldest place on earth in Alaska! There is snow all throughout the year. Very few human beings can live in this very cold climate.

Can you see the bulky bear wa
lking on water?? Do you know how?

Alaska is so cold that lakes do not have water but ice! Thats how the bear "walks" on water.

Even Australia has cold weather during winters.

Fun Task 2: Collect pictures of winters in Australia. One such picture from my side is below :)

Hottest Places on Earth

The hottest region in the Earth is the Sahara Desert. The temperature here is often over 50 Degree Celsius!

Camels are often used for transportation here. Do you know why??

It is because Camels can survive without water for several days and can bear the Saharan heat without pain.

Do you know that Australia also has deserts with a similar climate?
Fun Task 1: Find out Sahara Desert on the Globe

What are the different seasons??

Let us look at the different seasons in our country, Australia. Here are the seasons:

  • Summer: December to February
  • Autumn: March to May
  • Winter: June to August
  • Spring: September to November
Can you tell me what's the season right now?? Discuss in the comment box below.
